The Waveborn Legacy - Episode Twenty-Seven! (THE HYPE IS REAL)

Our day has arrived, people!
Man, I was so pumped this morning when I woke up. Today is the day! Vino's birthday!

So I had him do his homework the day before, because I was hoping to boost his education level before he aged up. I was really excited, and had money saved up, too...
Before Issac managed to somehow break the computer.
Now, I've tried repairing computers before in non-legacy games, and every time it has shocked whoever was repairing it (yes, I did only try twice) so I just had to stomach spending the money.

In happier news, however, Rudolph got to work on painting Issac's portrait! He was looking down when I took the Reference picture, but I think it suits him.

I've hung the  portrait here for the time being, but I definitely will be making a portrait room. I wonder whose portrait will be created next?
I kind of wish that I could do a big family portrait, but hey, I'm happy with this. Founder, heir, and spouses only!

With that done, and the day moving to the early morning of the next, I set Mariana to preparing for the birthday. Luckily, she didn't burn anything, and the cake even looked good. Woo! Improvement!

Add some candles...

...and make a wish!

Vino immediately turned into a ...
A teenager?
Yup, let's get rid of the suburban middle aged father look--

And voila! Vino Waveborn, the Teen variation, is complete! (stripy jumper, yessssss...)

I love how he is so cute. Lookit. He looks a lot different, in some ways, but it's definitely him.

Finally, I created a room for him (don't worry about the panel there, it was just where my mouse was hovering) in pastel blues. Might be my favourite of all the rooms, even if it literally is just 'bed' and nothing else.

But now...It's time for the Heir Poll! This will last until tomorrow, when all votes will be taken into account. I'm so pumped! Who out of the three Waveborn boys will become our Gen 2 Heir?
Vote to find out!

The Waveborn Legacy - Episode Twenty-Six! (Plans, Plans, Plans)

I know that this will be my second episode of today, but I don't really mind - for starters, I may be sharing these here and there but for the most part I'm the only one avidly following it. Might as well make myself happy by posting as many as I like!

Also, for those of you who haven't somehow heard the trumpeting noises from England that sound like a competition between a tuba and an elephant, here's the deal: I'm sick with a cold that is horrible, to the point where I had to come home. Seeing as this means I have to rest up, I have time to play Sims, among normal things like getting coursework done, so that means more Sims than usual, therefore more episodes than usual.

So for starters, I realised that I do somewhat have a (solo) dining area. What I'll probably do is extend the kitchen so that I can turn part of that into a dining area. It's hard to design this properly, though! I do want a big dining table, though, so even moving the kitchen and putting a room between would work. I would have to move the second bathroom, but I believe I have a space for it.

(I love musing about my plans.)

Anyway, this is pretty much what we have at the moment.

Things are still breaking, sadly, and when we have enough steady income, or enough saved (and I will have to start saving up, I believe...) I hope to replace all of the bad plumbing. If it's not the sinks, it's the showers. If it's not the showers, it's the toilets. If it's not the toilets, the fridge sparks and threatens explosions.
Sigh.
Sims, the realism behind this constant stack of issues is amazing. Good job!

Yes, children. This is what happens with houses. EVERYTHING BREAKS. In my flat at uni, one of my flatmates has deduced that his bacon cooks quicker if in the very top of the oven. He hasn't yet figured out that his bacon fat sticking to the heating bit at the top is what causes the near constant smoke rolling out from the oven.

Unlike in my flat, though, Waveport (the house) has a pair of adults and one teenager able to repair anything flung their way!

But enough about how things break down. How's about....SOME FRIENDLY STUFF?
Yeah, for some reason, I couldn't access any romantic interactions with Johanna. However, as she was over, she and Tada hung out at the front of the house. Here's a little close up (she has pink eyebrows, but if all goes well, I can fix that). It might also be possible that she aged up while I was sorting things out...But she has been picked as his sweetheart, and you only get a certain amount of generated townies.
Yeah, the Young Adult thing only just occurred to me. Sh.

Their interactions started off tense, but quickly progressed to cloudgazing...

...and hugs!

I also got a loveseat so there was something of a living room while I save money. It's a start, and very nice! I think a lot of things in this house might end up being blue, to be honest...

Rudolph's painting has also really been boosting the household funds, too! I tried to get a portrait of Issac, but he keeps facing the wall. So, added to the list of things I need to do: create a small painter's room for Rudolph at some point, complete with chair so Issac will stay still. Seriously.

I've also extended the corridor to start the expansion / covering of the entire plot of land aside from our cute little garden and potentially a large graveyard at the back (because that will happen eventually, as unprepared for it as I am. The corridor is the first step to expanding, and it really  kind of makes it more than just an idea in my head, which is so awesome! I love the fact that this really is going to become a house that changes with each generation, and a big house, too!
So. Much. Hype.

Here we have a nice little family tableau with the two elder sons. I love how Mariana and Issac just snuggle up on this! Issana lives, y'all!

However, seeing as it's now pretty much a matter of hours until Vino's birthday (the hype!), I've had to take down all the pictures on the walls in the Totoro room. They're in storage, never to be displayed again, aside from the really good rainbow, which is in the master bedroom, next to the bookcase (in the corner). It's sad to think that once I've created another bedroom, which I will do pretty much immediately, if I can, there won't be another occupant of this room for a while.
Rock on, Totoro room. May you be inhabited as soon as possible.

Speaking of room creation, I decided to stop leaving the yoga mat outside. Behold, the Yoga Room! It's pretty cheap right now, but I want to turn it into a proper wellness room.

Mariana, being Active, put it to immediate use!

I wish I was that good at yoga...

See you next time!

The Waveborn Legacy - Episode Twenty-Five! (Who Let Me Design This House?)

Greetings! You have returned to the virtual family of the Waveborns!

So, even though he nearly BURNT DOWN THE FREAKIN' HOUSE, Tada has continued with cooking and progressed to Level 3 of the Cooking Skill. I'm also currently unsure how far along with the Creativity skill Rudolph is, but as long as he can bring in money and capture portraits, I'm not going to question it.

In other news....*victorious trumpets* I did it! I saved up enough money to give Issac and Mariana their own room!

I've moved the bookcase and their bed in there, and got some nice blue lights. The wallpaper is from the same anchor custom content pack as the living room and Rudolph's room. I'm so proud that I managed to get around to doing this, honestly I am!

The current master bedroom is on the ground floor, because I'll only start building more stories when I've maxed out the lot. At the moment, it's not exactly an aesthetic, but soon enough I'll be able to save up enough money to redesign the outside. As I hate putting roofs on things, that may not be a thing that happens for a while (I lack the skill). I did originally intend to put the teenagers upstairs, but then I saw how ridiculously small the house is compared to the lot.

My new short term goals are to get the living room sorted out and potentially split into two, with a dining area and a living room area, a railing around the garden, which I may be moving again, and a small room to put portraits in. With regards to the garden, I'm really tempted to have an internalised courtyard, like with a Roman villa, but I'm pretty sure it would mean messing up my current mismatching house.

Speaking of portraits, though...

Rudolph has finished painting Mariana! She can now look upon her descendants for the rest of the legacy, no matter what! Finding space for this portrait was kind of difficult, I won't lie, which is why 'she' is currently residing between the kitchen and bathroom. However, it came out really well, and I love it. At the same time, though, it really shows the difference between Mariana now and Mariana at the start of the legacy.

Guys, look how far she's come. From the cute little sailor suit girl who was flirting with the librarian, in a home that was literally a toilet, a fridge, a shower, and a single bed, we now have a comfy-sweater wearing mother of three who's getting promoted at work, taking care of her family, living life to its fullest and who has properly founded a legacy. I honestly did not think we would get this far with the first generation, never mind before the next heir has been picked.

Also, quick news - it's nearly Vino's birthday! This means we are not that far off of picking our heir!
Even though that is happening, I've still done a little renovation work (and yes, that does mean just moving stuff again).

I've moved the penguin TV into the Totoro room! At some point, I'll expand it a little further, I think? I shrunk it before to save money, but I think if I get the Kids' Stuff pack, then it would be nice to have a TV area with a couple of bean bags. Ah well, the kids can probably afford to have separate rooms in the next generation!

As there is no longer a TV in the living room, however, I bought one! I'll keep the stand, but I'll probably upgrade the TV into something nicer once we have a bit more cash....

But still, it looks pretty nice! (We so need a sofa, though, and I might move Rudolph's room further back and place his door on the corridor.)

I'm still unsure where the portrait room should be. Maybe at the end of the corridor? It might look weird, but I think it would be ok somehow.

Ah! I don't know!

Before we wrap this up, however, I'd like to give you this picture of Tada chatting with Johanna on the phone, while his dad looks proudly on. It's the first interaction we've had with her for a little while, so I had to spam it a little so they stay even acquaintances.

That's all for now!

The Waveborn Legacy - Episode Twenty-Four! (GENETIC SKILLS)

Welcome back!
So, the Romance Poll has ended, and Tada will be pursuing the lovely Johanna! I'm hoping that they're still acquaintances...
However, this episode doesn't feature Johanna, as you can probably tell from the title.

Rudolph's begun working on his mother's portrait, which will be our first portrait. This legitimately cost me so much money, because Mariana kept making weird faces at the last minute. However, eventually we got a really nice shot, and the portrait should be finished next episode.

But Lilypad, I hear you say, it doesn't take that long to finish a portrait!

Well, whilst painting his masterpiece, Rudolph was interrupted.

Turns out SOMEONE decided to try and cook.

OH BOY.

This setting things on fire dealio is DEFINITELY genetic. Goddamn it, Mariana, you're meant to give a water theme to your legacy, not a pyromaniac one!

And then Tada immediately tried to cook something again afterwards. Why. Why do you do this to me.

The sink broke, too, but Rudolph was in the shower at the time, so we'll let him keep his privacy.
(Why is it always the sink?)

Finally, a sneak peek at the portrait! Hopefully, it looks nice enough... Once this one is done, I'll try to get a portrait of Issac, too, to hang beside it. I'll have one of the heir, too, but pretty much only of the heirs, I think, and their spouses? Who knows, if Tada wins the heir poll that will be coming up soon, Johanna could be in our portrait collection!

Lilypad, out!

The Waveborn Legacy - Episode Twenty-Three! (Future Planning!)

And we resume normal service!
Hey guys! Welcome back to the Waveborn Legacy!
For meddling with Tada's love life by voting on his sweetheart, please click here ! Otherwise, if you're not fussed, carry on reading!

So, as Rudolph recently aged up, he was off school for the day, leaving him alone in the house. As he has the Creative trait, which doesn't exactly contribute to his Aspiration of being a Freelance Botanist (I was so happy over his Aspiration roll, you have no idea), I decided to buy him an easel he can paint with.
To explain why I did this: it's kind of tradition to have a portrait of your Founder and Heirs in a Legacy Challenge. Creatives make really good in-home portrait painters, so the sooner Rudolph levels up in Painting to the point where he can Paint From Reference, the sooner I can have portraits!

So here we have his very first attempt!

I'm not sure WHY it's a giant bunny.
You can also see in the background that I've moved the computer to Tada's room. The easel actually needs a bit of space...
Anyways!
He can now do Landscape paintings, and I actually like this one. It also earned us a bit of handy money.
Yes, unfortunately, we are pretty low on money, strictly speaking, so for the time being, I'm selling all non-portrait paintings.

Also, here's a clear view of the Teenager Bedrooms! Ah, yes. The Miku Room. In all its glory.

To save money, I've shortened the Totoro room, and moved the paintings around so they all still fit on the walls, and sold Vino's bed. He's now claimed Rudolph's old bed, which I think due to it being a) awesome and b) marine-themed will probably be passed down through the generations.

And yes, everyone but Rudolph is asleep. They were exhausted from the minute they got in, poor dears.

A better look at the painting on the walls. I think I will probably end up keeping one of the nicer rainbow ones in Mariana and Issac's future room, which with the money we get at the moment is becoming more and more of a possibility. However, they can't have the painting in it until Vino is aged up into a teenager!

That's all for today!
See you next time!

ROMANCE POLL!

Tada has a choice between two girls!
Both sadly have the Evil trait, but here we go!

NAME: Idk so Bun Bun will do
PROS: Gorgeous and good style sense!
CONS: Wandered off pretty early and rejected Tada when he flirted with her at first.

NAME: Johanna
PROS: Extremely gorgeous and chatted away pretty easily with Tada
CONS: Prone to anger.

To vote for your choice, please comment a name below! This will end in a week's time!

The Waveborn Legacy - Episode Twenty-Two! (I'M PROUD OF YOU, SON)

Hey everyone!
Sorry that it's been a while, I've had a bit of a hectic schedule!
I found out that Swish's name is Johanna (nice). Yes, I've still been sending Tada out to socialise with girls he meets at school!

These are two of the girls we meet. Spoiler alert, beautiful girl with a bun was also evil, and Green Hair just....looks terrible. If I had to pick, I'd say that Green Hair is out of the running, and it's between Bun Bun and Johanna.
I'll post up a poll as to who Tada should try and romance after this episode!

In other news, this is our last picture of Algay, because it turns out that everybody was right. It was an awful idea to have a cowplant...
Much as I loved him, he had an unfortunate trait of trying to eat everyone. So, he's moved on to pastures new.
But on the other hand...

IT FINALLY HAPPENED!

 Rudolph aged up!
After getting over his initial look, I can now introduce you to Rudolph Waveborn, the middle son of the next generation!

He takes so much after his dad, it's unreal. I'm so happy that he does, because it's a really visible genetic link between them!
I wonder who Vino will take after?

Anyway, here's his everyday outfit...

Cute, right?
I also redecorated, as you can see in the background of his birthday pictures. I've turned Tada's old room into his room, and given Tada another room of his own! I even got a corridor between the two, which means I can properly start extending the house!

And yes, that is Hatsune Miku on the walls of Tada's room.

Rudolph's room is definitely a bit more plain, but it's also a place where he can go to get away from everyone, so points for that?

And a final look at the Vocaloid den!

See you next episode!
