The Waveborn Legacy - Series Two, Episode Twenty-Three! (We Grow)

Hello, my dear readers! Welcome back, once more, to the Waveborn Legacy!

I'm sorry that there was no episode yesterday, but I'll be making up for it with today's episode!

So, after the twins' birthday party had finished, Violet quickly cleared away the cake that Rudolph had made, while no one was looking. She's a smart girl - everyone who ate the cake had already felt uncomfortable from how bad it tasted.

Meanwhile, Rudolph seemed to be reminiscing and embarrassing his daughter, judging by the looks on their faces. I definitely think he's the kind of dad who would loudly talk about how his daughter was such a cute toddler in front of all her friends.

And even though they've only just become teenagers, the girls are already arguing about who's hogging the bathroom!

Now, this next bit may come as a bit of a surprise to you, but...

Tada's back!

How this happened was that, fool I am, I mentioned to my mother that I'd seen Tada sitting on a park bench. I may be an adult, but I do tell my mother a lot about my legacy challenge, and she immediately started guilt-tripping me, saying as how he didn't have a house in world, he was probably sleeping on that bench. She then spammed me with messages about how sad he must be, and how lonely life was for him, and how he probably missed his mother.

So I moved him back in after promising her I would. And he definitely is extremely happy to be back! Here's a picture of him and his mother hanging out in the living room.

As there was not much room downstairs, I finally created an upstairs! Here's his new room. It's much bigger than the old one!

And the stairs, as I said they would be, are in Rudolph's old teenage room.

Now, I also promised my mother that I would find Tada a nice girlfriend, so after he'd settled in, I sent him to the park, seeing as that's where Rudolph met Mackenzie.

And who do I see but this lady! Now, I know her, but you readers won't - would you believe it, but she's Arianna's mother! She's definitely got a lot of style! This lady is Hector, Cedric, and Sabine's maternal grandmother!

Tada played chess at the park with a few people, and while he did that, I found this lovely woman walking around. I think she's absolutely gorgeous!

She and Tada struck up a friendship, talked late into the night...

And then, love blossomed.

She moved in a little while after that, and I gave her a makeover. Meet Alysha, Tada's partner! Finally, he's found love!

I went with a blue theme for her clothing, so that she matched Tada. Hopefully, not too cheesy?

Back home, Violet and Charlotte had decided that Eloise's room (with Eloise sleeping in her bed) was the cool new place to hang out.

However, they soon got into an argument, being teenagers, and Charlotte went all huffy, as did Violet. Charlotte was very angry for quite a while. I think it's the first time they've fought, too.

After sending the girls to sleep off their spat, I made sure everyone else was in bed and well rested for the weekend, as I had plans!

But did I ever get a surprise in the morning. Eloise, the youngest (technically) can cook! Guys! We finally have a Waveborn who doesn't instantly set things alight when learning to cook!

How did that happen?!

Meanwhile, Tada was getting acquainted with his sister-in-law. It didn't last so long - he doesn't like her that much, because she has the Mean trait.

And for Tada, that was just the start of his day. He took Alysha into the garden for a romantic moment, and they seemed to be getting along happily...

Until he proposed to her.
Despite their good relationship, she rejected him, and they both left the garden extremely embarrassed. I think I'll leave it a little while before letting him propose again.

However, Tada's failed proposal aside, it was Sunday - and there's no better day to work on Aspirations!

Violet, who has the Angling Ace Aspiration, was sent trekking over the road to the large body of water, near where her uncle first met Grim. Part of her Aspiration is to fish in three different locations, so this was her first time fishing and first fishing location!

She wasn't the only one out fishing, either! And while she didn't catch anything, it did count towards her Aspiration!

(Meanwhile, Tada and his mother were talking in the garden. I think Mariana was trying to console her son. I hope so. She looks like she knows what's going on.)

Our other Aspiration busy bee, Charlotte, had found an apple tree near where Violet was fishing, and harvested that for her Aspiration, which required her to plant something three times.

Once she'd planted five different plants, completing the first half of that Aspiration rank, she was required  to water a plant ten times, which given the size of our garden, she easily completed - moving from Naturewalker to Garden Variety!

Charlotte has actually managed to move up an entire rank! I'm so proud!

Seeing as Eloise needed a job to complete her Aspiration, she's become a babysitter, which means she'll be working on a weekend now. Her work colleague, Adam, came over to chat (she'd met him before, I think?) and I decided that she might as well make a Good Friend.

And wow, did they ever talk! On, and on, and on!

As Violet hadn't caught anything, I let her talk to a passing Teen - his name's Robert, and we don't know much about him other than that. They're not even friends yet, only acquaintances, but relationships are important! After all, the boys didn't have many close friends, so I'd like for the girls to.

Eloise finally became Good Friends with Adam, and they kept talking outside, before she invited him into the house.

Mackenzie and Mariana really have become friends, and have a habit of joining each other in watching soap dramas on the television. It's nice to see how their friendship has grown, given how awkward it used to be.

 But then everything went wrong.

The thing I've been worried about happening happened, which only goes to prove the inevitability of some things.

Mariana suddenly stopped what she was doing, and started to lie down, just as her husband had.

Our founder was dying.

 Within moments, she was gone, lying on the floor.

I didn't know how to feel. I'd created her, watched her grow from a young woman into an old lady surrounded by her family, watched her go from the only inhabitant of a little grey box of a house to a matriarch of a sprawling abode, and now she was dead.

Charlotte was the first to discover her...

...and her twin wasn't too far behind, bringing Adam with her purely by chance.

Violet was next...

And that's how the Grim Reaper turned up to find a small crowd of sobbing teenagers around the soul he was supposed to be reaping.

I mean, you can't see his expression, but you can definitely guess his mood.

The room was, I'm glad to say, filled with Mariana's family. Though she had collapsed alone, she didn't breath her last on her own. Two of her sons and three of her grandchildren were there.

And then, she was reaped, her life ended with a swing of a scythe. Her life force was surprisingly small.

I placed her tombstone next to Issac's, and finally, after his coming back so many times to see her, after her grief at being split from her soulmate, they were reunited, side by side in the garden that they had both created, nurtured and loved, evermore to be remembered by their family.

Before I wrap this up, I'd like to leave this poem by Joyce Grenfell, in light of what has transpired. I think that Mariana would most definitely have thought it appropriate.

If I should go before the rest of you
