The Waveborn Legacy - Series Three, Episode Eleven! (Baby Talk)

In preparation for Toby's eventual aging up, the first thing I did after the last episode was expand the nursery and redecorate it with things. The objects do, I must admit, look a little haphazard at the moment, but I will tidy them up. I rather fancy the idea of Dino and the bear where the chairs are now, and creating a little reading corner with a rug - but more on that later!

It seems that the birth of her third great-grandchild (remember, Eloise is a mother too!) has mollified Mariana, as we had a nice ghost-included family breakfast the morning after Toby was born. Charlotte was still asleep, but everyone else was there, and all of them seemed to be having quite a good time!

Rudolph is every inch the doting grandparent to his new grandson as well as his oldest! He was cooing and making silly faces so that Toby would laugh!

However, this woke up Asriel. Honestly, how's a toddler to sleep with all this cooing nonsense?

Asriel then decided he was bored, and started to wander away, something I already have learnt is a bad thing to allow, as he's learnt to climb the stairs recently.

So, in order to amuse him, I not only had Violet teach him to talk (which succeeded!)...

But had his grandmother teach him with flash cards about basic needs! He seemed to like it well enough, and didn't get a negative moodlet from either activity! He's such a little dear when he wants to be, after all.

And a familiar face came to visit - Auntie Eloise! I'm tempted to have Violet and Asriel visit her house soon, as we haven't been there yet, and we don't see Eloise nearly enough. That said, it might also be pertinent to visit Vino and Arianna!

Eloise seemed delighted to see her small nephews, as Toby was asleep in his crib in the nursery as usual and Asriel hadn't wandered far from it. This trick of keeping the little ones in the nursery most of the time is a blessing - not once have I yet had to hire a nanny, and Asriel need only leave the room to potty train or to be brought down to the adults. Soon, enough, he'll age up, and I'll outfit the Totoro room to his liking, but until then, it's pretty much an issue of making sure he's out of trouble. I can never relax around toddlers, unlike Auntie Eloise!

While that was going on, Toby woke up and started crying, so Violet came in to feed him. She's besotted with him, of course.

But she didn't leave without tidying things up a little first. All these toys scattered all over the floor - tut, tut!

Speaking of tidying, Caleb has been finding more crystals and fossils all the time! I even had to get another collection table for the study!

He's not the only one who has been working on his aspiration in the last few days, though - Rudolph has been taking care of the garden when he can, although in all the toddler and baby uproar, we've unfortunately lost a few plants. Ah, well - maybe we can get some good seeds?

And speaking of toddler uproar...not that long after, Toby aged up! Yay!
I'm so happy! He's got his mother's beautiful dark eyes! They go so well with the pale blond hair (no prizes for guessing which parent contributed towards that) and overall, he's a gorgeous little baby!

He's got the Wild trait, which is presumably why Charlotte immediately picked him up and returned him to the nursery. Nope, no playing in the dresser for you, Toby!

Don't worry, though - a peanut butter and jelly sandwich was quickly given to him! I guess his Wildness isn't the only reason she took him into the nursery! (Isn't he cute?)

I'm so excited to see how it will be having Toby around as a toddler!
Until next time!
